Well…yet another snowy morning here in Prince Edward County. It’s OK. Really. Since the last dump disappeared with lightening speed, I’m not too worried about this, especially since it will be steadily warming throughout the day and into the night and rain is predicted. I’ve got Papa home this week and I picked up some yummy double chocolate cocoa for us in case of a snow day. To make things (ironically) complete, we will be barbequing some steaks tonight đ
I’ve got a couple of Finished Objects to report, neither of which is much of a surprise.
My Flying Geese is finished and blocked. I wore it yesterday and I LOVE it. It is exactly the right size to just slip over my head and around my neck. If I needed to, I could lift it up to cover my ears. The yarn is soft and silky and feels just lovely against my skin. Win, win, win!
Next, I’ve finished the winter iteration of my Maizie pullover. (Actually, I finished this while I was in New Orleans, but I’ve only just been able to properly wash and block it). This is the seasonal variant of the linen sweater I made in the late summer from Quince & Co Sparrow. I love wearing this sweater, but now that I’ve had a chance to walk around in it a little, there are several modifications I’d like to make before the pattern is released.
First, the neck is just a little too wide. I wanted a generous, collar-bone-enhancing picture neckline, but this tends to slip off the shoulders which simply won’t do. I don’t like wearing things that need to be continually tugged at. I think part of the problem is that the yoke needs a few more rounds to give it a little extra depth. No problem.
Second, the sleeves are not quite as tailored as I’d like them to be. I got them right on the linen sweater, then second-guessed myself and re-wrote them for the Tern version. Note to self.
So, now on to finishing the Amaryllis hat (nearly there!) and writing and choosing colorwork for the Martha cardigan. No mischief for me!

Your cowl is beautiful! I love the colours you chose. And I was immediately smitten with your pullover design, I love the asymmetrical details and the wide neckline- let’s hear it for collarbone enhancing knits! But true, off the shoulders is not my style. especially since i have a scar on my left shoulder that I’m usually trying to cover up.
