I enjoy sharing my love of knitting! I have taught workshops at Toronto’s CreativFestival, yarn shops and knitting retreats. Following is a list and description of the classes in my repertoire. They are available to groups, retreats, yarn shops and as private lessons. All include comprehensive written hand-outs and rich video tutorial support. FULL-DAY WORKSHOPS

KNITTER’S CRASH COURSE

Level: Absolute Beginner

Description: An 8-hour project-based workshop aimed at the beginning or returning knitter. (I have two seasonal variants available, winter – a scarf, and summer – spa cloths.

SOCK CAMP – Basic Training

Level: Beginner + 1 (Able to knit in the round)

Description: An 8-hour workshop for knitters who specifically want to knit socks. This Sock Camp is basic, one sock at a time from the cuff down using a simple, short row heel.

SOCK CAMP – Advanced

Level: Intermediate (familiar with circular knitting, magic loop and basic shaping techniques)

Description: An 8-hour workshop designed for knitters who specifically want to knit socks two at a time. This class is available as top-down or toe-up options; the top-down option includes the short-row heel, the toe-up option includes the Fleegle heel.

MITTEN MAGIC

Level: Beginner +1 (Able to knit in the round)

Description: A 6-hour project-driven workshop designed for knitters who want to knit mittens or gloves seamlessly, one-at-a-time from the cuff upward using a shaped thumb gusset.

HALF-DAY WORKSHOPS

KNITTING IN THE ROUND Basic Hat Class

Level: Beginner

Description: A 3-hour project-based workshop aimed at knitters who want to move beyond the basic knit and purl stitches by learning to work seamlessly in the round. Knitting with multiple double-pointed needles, Magic Loop, and 2-Circular needles will be covered.

OOPS! Fixing Common Knitting Mistakes

Level: Beginner to Advanced

Description: A 3-hour workshop intended to help knitters of all levels to fix or eliminate errors in their work. Low-impact repair techniques are designed to reduce the amount of ripping back that must be done to correct mistakes.

KNIT-TO-FIT

Level: Beginner + to Advanced

Description: A 3-hour workshop for knitters who want to produce better fitting and more flattering knitted garments.

TWO COLOR BRIOCHE KNITTING

Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Description: This class can be taught as a 3-hour or 6-hour workshop. The 3-hour option explains basic two-color brioche rib while the 6-hour workshop includes shaping techniques and the 2-Color Italian Cast-On

MOSAIC COLOR WORK

Level: Beginner +

Description: A 3-hour workshop that presents an easy way to create color work patterns in knitting. This workshop is also available in a project driven format.

TWO-AT-A-TIME TOE UP 

Level: Intermediate

Description: Learn to cast on and knit two of anything at the same time. This module focuses on sock construction and features the fun and easy Fleegle heel.

STRANDED KNITTING

Level: Beginner +

Liberate your color work by learning the two-handed method. This project-driven module is most often paired with STEEKING module to make a day of Strand & Steek.

STEEKING

Level: Beginner +

Do the unthinkable…cut your knitting! Work stranded color work in the round, then steek to create a sweet set of coasters.

DOUBLE KNITTING

Level: Intermediate

Learn to knit interlocking double faced fabric in two colors. Knit two layers at a time to produce bold color work designs in this project-driven workshop.

DEMONSTRATIONS

1.   I-CORD

This (approx.) 1-hour demonstration explains basic I-cord, applied I-cord, the I-cord bind-off and cast-on methods.

2.  TUBULAR CAST-ON

This (approx.) 1-hour demonstration explains the tubular cast-on as it is worked flat or in the round.

3.  KITCHENER CRASH COURSE

This (approx.) 1-hour demonstration explains grafting with the Kitchener Stitch. It includes a handy, easy-to-memorize cheat-sheet!
