Good morning, knitters! They’re here! The True North Hat now has its matching True North Mittens!
Snowflakes falling on piney woods, pick-up hockey on frozen ponds, hot chocolate and crackling fires are all recalled in the new True North set. Whimsical and retro with a distinctly Canadian vibe, True North combines simple stranded knitting with smooth fields of stockinette and easy shaping to create a perfect first fair isle project. And the silky-soft tweedy texture really looks like it’s snowing!
I’m so happy that this rustic little idea has become a set that everyone can knit. True North is not only a great introduction to stranded knitting, but a great primer on simple, classic shaping strategies.
The thumb gusset in the True North Mittens is a traditional method of shaping that uses directional increases to create a little “V” of extra fabric where it is needed – over the thickest part of the hand. This unobtrusive little pocket cradles the thumb and makes for an exceptional fit.
I love the way mittens trap warm air around your hands allowing your fingers to share their warmth with one another in a way that gloves can’t. I find them so much cozier!
To welcome the True North Mittens, I’d like to offer this new pattern at a 50% discount through Friday, February 1. I hope you’ll have fun knitting it! Just pop in to my Ravelry shop, pick up the True North Mittens and enter the coupon code TRULY3 at checkout. The matching True North Hat pattern is also available on Ravery.
Don’t forget! The brand new Charlotte Hat & Cowl pattern is 50% until midnight tonight and discounts on the Sackets Harbor Hat and the Sackets Harbor Mittens as well as the Hay Bay Hat and Mittens patterns are still available through Monday at midnight. Coupon codes are HERE.
‘Til we meet again, I hope you’ll have a smashing weekend that includes lots of love and knitting!
Love,
