Hello everyone! It’s been a while. I’ve really missed blogging and I’m excited to be back and formulating a new regular blogging schedule. If you know me, you already know that I’ve been dealing with some tough losses of late, our beloved doggy in December and then my darling Carl in February. It has been a heartbreaking few months but, with all of the loss, I’ve been the recipient of incredible love and support from my amazing friends. I honestly do not know how I could have survived this without them. Despite deep sadness, I feel very blessed. And that’s a great place to start. So! Out of the gloom and into the sunlight.
A LOT of stuff is happening! Though I can’t share the details, you’ll be seeing new patterns by yours truly in 6 national publications beginning in the fall–12 patterns are slated to be published so far with new submissions going in almost every week. I’m pretty excited about that! The lovely ladies at Wool-Tyme in Ottawa where I taught a sock camp last weekend brought me an interesting update: Interweave Knits presented one of my accepted projects on the runway at TNNA! Wow, right!?!
And speaking of sock camp…We had so much fun on Saturday at Wool-Tyme! It was just the most amazing mix of talented knitters, each with a unique sense of humor and style. We laughed and learned and had a blast! And we made teeny-tiny socks ;D Thanks so much to the WWW’s (Wonderful Women of Wool-Tyme), particularly Miss Theresa, and all of the great ladies who participated.
Remember the 6-shawl series I began promising back in January? Well, it’s ON thanks to some off-the-charts talented sample knitters/cheerleaders. Our first beautiful wrap pattern, Echo, will be published Friday, July 7! I’ll be releasing these patterns, one per month, via the Free Pattern Friday group page, here on the blog, and on Ravelry. They will be free for a period of one week, after which they will become regular paid Ravelry patterns. The series encompasses a wide variety of fibers and weights while sharing an aesthetic of simplicity, my current personal creative challenge. I hope you like ’em! Many, many thanks are due to the generous support of yarn suppliers Cascade, Millamia and KnitPicks.
I’ll stop here for now, but I have some great new plans for the blog, some interesting new technical things to write about and lots of exciting new projects and patterns. Looking forward to a fresh new bloggy start and hoping to see you again soon!
Christine
