Bell shaped and sweetly simple in form, the Poincaré Poncho begs to be curled up in. But with a quirky 60’s vibe and wide center panel, she’s hip and modern too. Worked from the top down, this poncho borrows from seamless yoke shaping techniques everywhere but its stand-out front cable panel which showcases diamond shaped twists that devolve into simple ropes and ribbing.⁠

Any time of year, it’s fun and practical to cast on transitional knits that can layer over lighter things. Choose from a wide range of muted shades from @trendsetteryarns. This is the time of year for versatility! Bell-shaped and simple in form, the Poincaré Poncho begs to be curled up in. With a quirky 60’s vibe and wide cabled center panel, it’s hip and modern too. A deep collar and hand slashes, both ribbed, make Poincaré a cozy choice. Worked from the top down, this poncho uses seamless yoke shaping everywhere except in its stand-out front cable panel that showcases diamond-shaped twists devolving into simple ropes and ribbing. Though the photo stylist chose to use the collar to create a draped neckline (which I think is very pretty), Poincaré actually has a wide, fold-over ribbed collar.⁠

The Glenwood Pullover, with its softly draped dolman sleeves and deep ribbing is worked downward from an open, ribbed neckline. Increase points tucked in and around strong vertical cables that run from neck to hem create a generous dolman line. From stitches left live after increases are complete, deep ribbed cuffs are worked. The center panel is worked in simple yet engaging diamond-tuck texture. The effect is stylish, yet roomy and warm with a cozy West Coast feel. The airiness of Weld worked at an open gauge keeps it light and wearable.⁠

Intrigued by the emerging dolman trend I’d seen happening around the world of knitting, I worked with Hudson + West Weld to develop a shaping strategy that would create that open, draped dolman line. I used basic raglan shaping with carefully placed increase points in and around cabled and textured panels. Really, I wanted to exploit the natural drape of Weld, a blend of American sourced Merino and Corriedale while showcasing the yarn’s extraordinary stitch definition.⁠

Two-stitch cables filled with garter stitch sit in relief on a background of reverse stockinette. They’re repeated on the raglan sleeves and devolve into deep ribbing at the hem and cuffs. Ribbing also edges the knitted-in pockets.⁠
