Well, the weather has turned cold, the kid’s have gone back to school and it’s time to start thinking about all kinds of new things. I always feel like Labour Day is more the start of a new year than New Years. I guess it’s a hangover from the first day of school, new shoes, stacks of clean paper and new pens. And I suppose the cooler weather is motivating (although we’re expecting another blast of summer this week).
Carl was home over the long weekend so we got in some solid beach time before the cool snap. Teddy actually swam this year, although he’s not likely to win any water-dog prizes. We did a little tasting, too, both wine and barbeque.
I’ve begun the second (winter) incarnation of the still-nameless sweater. I’m using Quince & Co Tern in the Mist color way. This weekend was so chilly, I was really wishing it was done and wearable.
In other knitting news, I’ve been working my bunions off getting class materials pulled together for our Fall 2015 knitting classes at the shop, Creativ Festival where I’ll be teaching Brioche and also for our second annual Wine & Wool in the County Retreat. The little church is overflowing with samples at the moment.
And, I’ve had a little moment in the sun! That’s me in Elizabeth McCarten’s gorgeous new Glenora Cardigan 🙂
So, it’s been a pretty eventful week! I’ve got a couple of new finished objects just about to come off the needles and a great big important piece of NEWS coming to you in my next post, so I hope you’ll check in again over the next week or so… 😉
