Echo Wrap

No 1: Echo

Subtil: 6 simple shawlsWelcome to the first of the series “Subtil: 6 simple shawls”. I’m looking forward to presenting a collection of essential, pared down pieces that are accessible and engaging for knitters of many skill levels. Today’s offering is the Echo Wrap, a simple, triangular shawl that is easy and rhythmic to knit. Annette B. is the artisan responsible for knitting this lovely shawl; I’m so grateful that she’s willing to share her talents with me!

I’ve been listening to your feedback, and I think you’ll find some pleasant changes to the Free Pattern Friday model. For example, these will no longer be off-site patterns; that means that they will appear in your Ravelry library and remain there always. Also, I’ve upgraded my charting software. That means all the patterns will be presented with written instructions as well as charts. I hope you’ll enjoy these new features.

2017 is shaping up to be something of a vagabond year for me. I’m drifting from place to place, home to home, enjoying the hospitality of my friends and finding inspiration in simple things. I guess it’s not surprising that my first few offerings have been inspired by places; I’m striving to be observant wherever I am. Annette B. is the artisan respon

Echo is a soft, swingy triangle, easy to knit, with two reverberating lace patterns. It is cast on at the open, lacy border and worked upward to a point. She was composed in New Orleans during Jazz Fest where, from the patio could be heard the sounds of joyful music made delicate by distance. Echo is large enough to wrap up in on chilly evenings, yet light enough to keep the sun from delicate shoulders. Prepare yourself for an enchanting knit!

My friend Elizabeth introduced me to the joys of the Sandnesgarn line and I’ve availed myself time after time of the lush fibers, quality blends and sophisticated color ranges offered by this Scandinavian yarn purveyor. Mandarin Petit is no exception. It is a super soft, silky 100% cotton yarn, fingering weight, that slips gently through the fingers as each stitch is shaped. It is truly a delight and available in some really captivating shades.

So! Ready to start knitting? Without further ado, your Ravelry coupon code is ECHO22. (Please do not share this coupon code…I love having new visitors to the blog and it really helps me a lot!) I hope you enjoy it!
