Cabled Wrap or Throw

It’s Never Too Early!

As discussed, it’s never too early to start holiday knitting, especially if you’re planning a really special gift for someone truly knit-worthy. This is my new Garnet Wrap found within the pages of Interweave Knits Gifts issue. I’m thrilled to be a part of this collection; many thanks to Harper Point Photographers for the lovely photos. The Gifts issue is available digitally and in print now.

You can also purchase individual patterns on Ravelry. The Garnet Wrap can be found HERE. This lush rectangular wrap juxtaposes a deeply etched Celtic braid with simple fields of stockinette. Classic ribbing touched with eyelets provides a strong and elegant edge.

Garnet is inspired by the Celtic moorland where moist turf and leaden skies conspire to brew dense earthy fogs. Think of wrapping up snugly in the embrace of thick tweedy cables in deep ruddy colors.

Imagine this Celtic wrap styled with a pleated skirt and knee high boots or layered handsomely over a cropped denim jacket. Add a big pewter shawl pin for an extra kiss of the Celtic.

The Garnet Wrap is generously sized for maximum coziness at 68″ x 26″ and doubles as a luxurious throw to curl up in on the sofa. This beautiful sample was worked by Tipsy Knitter Shayla C. who, in the dark of night, secretly knits more and better than the rest of us! Thanks so much for your time and talents, Shayla!

The unique texture and rich surface of the Garnet Wrap is due to the extraordinary Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran Tweed (in color #124, Jewel), a blend of wool, silk and cashmere. With its airy woolen spun hand and silky texture, Silkroad Aran Tweed provides superior handling for cables, soft sponginess, lightness for the wearer and stunning color saturation. I’d love a sweater in ….perhaps in Posie?

See you tomorrow with another new release!

I'd love to hear from you!
