It’s Done

Sparrow Sweater

Well, it’s done. Finally. My little nameless linen sweater is done. I like it! <She said with some surprise>

Sparrow Sweater 2

Tern in "Mist"The pattern is written but not yet graded, and so the work continues. I think now I’d like to make another, a winter version, in Tern which is Quince & Co’s wool/tussah silk blend. I’ve chosen the Mist colorway. I’d like to make the sleeves full length (rather than 3/4) for the winter version and, given the soft, springiness of the Tern, alter the ribbing a little. It’s a quick sweater to knit, but because of the long sections of stockinette stitch, you’ve really got to love your chosen yarn.

Cockleshells Winter

In other exciting news…I’ve got a winter version of my Cockleshells hat worked up! I’ve used Mirasol’s Tuhu, an airy blend of baby llama, merino and angora. As you can imagine, sooooofty soft soft! The color is my favorite baby blue gray. <Dammit. So hard to photograph a hat when one is all alone!>

Late season flowersThe weather has been DIVINE according to no one except me. Temperatures have been in the 80’s with enough humidity to make things slightly hazy and very foggy in the early morning. I’ve been waiting all year for this and, luckily, have been off the schedule at the shop. Carl says it’s “My Week”. I haven’t missed a moment, only going indoors to sleep, shower and prepare food. Even Teddy’s been having class outside all week! Here are some pics from my ‘summer office’. I hope you’re enjoying this last blast of summer where ever you are 🙂

Teddy! Class outside

Cheryl your sparrow sweater is gorgeous! I want to knit a sparrow sweater! Will you be doing your sweater class this fall? I want to get the sizing perfected – so it will fit when it is finished-after all that hard work!:)
