This post could be alternatively titled “Things I Wish I Had Time To Knit”. Why don’t these lovely things pop up in July? I never have time to knit them during their proper season.
I have always (and I mean ALWAYS) wanted to knit some fair isle Christmas stockings for Carl and Mumsie and me. I am absolutely in love with the quirky, modern, “Whoville-ness” of these by Kristin Nicholas. In my mind, I’m knitting the first three for us, then adding extras every time we have Christmas visitors. (Yeah. Right. I’m a knitting legend in my own mind.) Here are some more traditional ones; the first is from Mason Dixon Knitting, the second from Joy Green.
I found these gorgeous little ornaments when I was searching for a project I could make for Rosehaven’s Festival of Trees offering. Naturally, I missed the deadline on that one.
These remind me of sugarplums!
I’d love to see this treasure winding its way down my stairway.
And while I was casting about, looking for yummy Christmas things, I stumbled upon these. Are these not the most gorgeous colorwork socks ever?? (Add them to the list…)

Love the holiday knits. Now if I could only remember to queue them and start making them early next year, that would be awesome! 😀

Yikes! I would not attempt the socks, but the ornaments are adorable. One or two of those could be doable by Christmas.

Yes, YOU could do one or two by Christmas because YOU somehow seem to have 48 hours in every day! (I’d like to know how you do it 😉

And did you see the sweater interpretation of the socks??? W O W

The ornaments! The knit lights. Love them all!
One of my sisters would love those colourwork socks! Wonder if I should flip it to my mom?! LOL

I don’t think I’d ever wear that last pair of socks, they look more like a work of art! And I just love that knitted wreath, definitely something I’m going to try for next year!
