Gosh, that was fun! Not only did I have a wonderful time catching up with an old friend, eating woodsy barbeque and drinking wine, we managed to squeeze in some fabric shopping. This is something we both enjoy and something Laura and I have done together a million times.
Something I’ve missed since I left the US (and I never thought I’d hear myself say it) is shopping at JoAnn. I did nothing but complain about the dearth of fabric stores in New Orleans while I was there. Now I find that I miss the selection, pleasant layout and most importantly, the coupons that JoAnn offers.
I’ve searched the internet (including the JoAnn website) for the Pellon interfacing products I need for my bags. Pellon is not sold in Canada so somehow, between shipping, “processing” fees, taxes, tariffs, duties and all the other hoo-rah-rah, the stuff winds up costing $10 a yard. We just can’t do that. Well, a little shopping, a little coupon clipping and Huzzah! I got it all for about $4! It paid for my trip.

I love me some Joann’s.

40% off any item right? I do miss how inexpensive big box stores can be.
