Welcome, Sterling Socks!

Good morning, knitters! It’s sunny and warm here in South Louisiana, In fact it was 84 degrees when I got up at 6:30am! It’s not a great day to wear socks but it’s a great day to knit them! Therefore, I’m happy to release the new Sterling Socks pattern for your knitting pleasure!

Please take 30% off the pattern price through my Ravelry Shop through Saturday, May 30 using the coupon code BFLOCK.

I love to knit socks in the summer time because they are so light and portable. Sock knitting conveniently punctuates stretches of easy knitting-in-the-round with little complex points like heels and toes, making socks a perfect project for the car, the beach or the dock.

Each year while unpacking at the Sterling Renaissance Festival, I encounter an old, hand knitted shawl. (I’m sure it was already old when it was purchased, probably from some nearby thrift store.) Although it is severely felted and shrunken to a fraction of its original size, I always admire it and feel a particular love for the old-fashioned stitch pattern worked in panels along its length.

I’ve recreated that stitch pattern in these sweet socks made even more special by yarn dyed by hand and purchased at the festival. The Sterling Socks are worked from the toe up using Judy’s Magic Cast On and feature an easy-to-knit Fleegle Heel.

Please check out Holiday Yarns for their marvelous Flock Sock hosiery twist sock yarn. This is a durable, beautifully spun yarn that comes in scads of gorgeous hand dyed colors.

I hope you’ll enjoy this new pattern and have happy and healthy sock knitting all summer long!

Love,

Cheryl

I'd love to hear from you!
