Good morning, knitters! It’s chilly and fairly bright here in New Orleans this morning but the good news is it’s warming and we should be back into the 60’s by tomorrow. I hope you’re somewhere warm and cozy!
It’s been another wonderful week in Cheryl’s world. I’ve had three new design proposals accepted at a major magazine – that’s a good thing – and I’m deep into swatching and sketching for Winter 2020. I’m thrilled to be part of Interweave Knits Spring 2019 which goes live this week. I’ll be telling you all about the lovely Gardenia Stole, part of the Vintage Botanical story, in tomorrow’s post.
I am very nearly ready to publish the pattern for the Diana Fingerless Mitts which have been knitted in about four incarnations. They are meant to coordinate with the Diana Hat which came out back in 2015. I wanted something as simple and timeless as this popular hat with a nice close fit. The mitts are ribbed overall with cables moving over reverse stockinette on the back of the hand. The thumb gusset is fully fashioned and worked in stockinette. I hope you’ll like them!
Here’s how my Sundays always start…at blessed St. Jude. On this particular Sunday, I followed up with the world famous Brennan’s for brunch with some sweet friends. I am soooo lucky!
Look at these beautiful kumquats growing in the courtyard. I wanted to pick a big basket and dip them in chocolate!
We enjoyed the table side presentation of a Brennan’s signature dish, Bananas Foster. Very spectacular!
On Monday night I saw a film with a friend (The Green Book – very good), then sat sipping Sangria in the French Quarter. (Still not suffering!)
