Ah, summer! Picnics, the beach, road trips, boat trips… it’s one of those wonderful times of year, like Christmas, when we are all on the same page. Warm weather and clear roads make summer a great time to travel and that means road knitting! As much as I love driving, I especially enjoy sitting in the passenger seat, knitting along while someone else takes the wheel. This spring, Miss Laura and I took to the road for a quick getaway to the nearby shores of the Gulf of Mexico. I had a deadline so Laura drove. Apart from the fact that she refuses to use cruise control, it was really a lovely drive. (On the way home, I spilled an entire frozen margarita on the console of my beloved Volvo, but that’s another story.)
I think socks make the perfect travel knitting. They are so completely portable, even the yarn and needles are pint size. They fit into small and often adorable project bags like these, the Lola Zipper Pouch from SotakHandmade on Etsy. You can make ’em yourself! Be sure to visit Sotak; there are so many cute things to make and the pattern downloads are instant.
Today, in honor of the road trip, I’d like to offer a discount on three summer sock patterns, Picnic, Maypole and Clementine. These are engaging projects that invite color play and adapt themselves to many different yarns within the fingering and, in the case of Maypole, worsted weight categories. I hope you’ll enjoy them!
And in case you missed it…I offered a little discount on three patterns featuring stripes earlier in the week. That promotion ends Monday, July 23, 2018 at midnight and features the Annapolis Wrap, the Dalrymple Cowl and the Yew Tree Cowl. The coupon code is STRIPE-AHOLIC. Don’t miss it…these are small and portable project too!
Without further ado, take advantage of these three great sock patterns at 50% off through end of day Friday, July 27, 2018. Just head over to my Ravelry shop, pop the patterns of choice into your shopping cart, enter the enter code HITTHEROAD at checkout and cast on. (Feel free to share a link to this page with your friends, but please don’t give out the coupon code. It helps me a lot when folks come here to visit.) If you like these little discounts (I usually offer them on Friday mornings) and are interested in my work, I’d love to see you over at the new Ravelry group Friends of Littlechurch Knits. Until we meet again, happy knitting!
