Cool Summer Blues: Fused Market Tote
Water, waves and warm sea breezes…I love the lazy, gentle days of late summer. Cool blues are the predominant colors and easy meditative knits are the order of the day. This month at LittleChurchKnits, I’m focusing on relaxing rhythmic knits in cool colors worked by the pool or ocean side. Pour yourself a cool drink and cast on!
Fused is a super simple cotton tote that does double duty at the park, pool or beach! Take 30% off the pattern price in my Ravelry shop through Friday, August 5.
A Really Functional Cotton Tote
Off to the pool or the farmer’s market? Take along this easy cotton tote! Horizontal open work lends a “deconstructed” air to this functional market bag that combines a boho vibe with city chic. It’s big enough to hold all your essentials but works up in heartbeat using DK weight yarn.
Fun to Knit!
Steamy summer sidewalks are evoked in this deconstructed cotton tote. Strips of melted stitches worked in horizontal open work march around the upper edge with the bag bottom remains solid. The Fused Market Tote has a fun-to-knit construction that begins at the bottom with a bellybutton cast on, then works its way outward to form a circle. It is worked entirely in the round and finishes with an I-cord upper edge. This little bag is such fun! Make Fused in a ton of colors, then give as gifts!
My Favorite Cotton Blend
Cotlin by Knit Picks is one of my favorite cotton yarns. A blend of Tanguis cotton and linen, this yarn is as beautiful as it is durable. It boasts a very round profile, giving Cotlin great stitch definition and strength. This blend is a great choice for high traffic items like bags and blankets. Cotlin comes in tons of great colors and is very affordable.
I hope you’ll have fun knitting this easy cotton tote. It’s cool enough to knit in the summer and pretty enough to enjoy all year long.
