Hi knitters! Well, it’s been a minute since last we spoke. I thought I should touch base and share some WIP’s with you because lots of knitting and other fun things have happened!
Rambles
I want to update Rambles in another post so I won’t go into much detail now. Suffice to say that Rambles have taken place in a kayak, a dolphin boat, on the beach and at City Park where the magnolias are blooming.
There have been wildlife sightings, too, especially birds. This is one of a pair of White Ibis that I spotted while walking in the park. Sometimes it feels like I live in book by Audubon!
Hudson+West
Due to a large number of questions about the Whitney pullover and how to choose the appropriate size, the good folks at Hudson+West did a little interview with me on their blog! I actually answered all the knitting questions from the beach, which was fun and unusual!
Socks, socks, socks!
So many socks. I’ve got three new pair in the works, all in various stages of test and sample knitting. The Sterling Socks, fresh from test knitting, will be released on Saturday! Check back for coupon codes that will be valid for one week from the date of release.
A New Sweater!
I’ve got a new sweater design in progress. I’m very excited about this because it is a sweater I need in my wardrobe. A blend of cotton and merino, it’s something I can wear in the south during the winter and up north in the summer. It’s not often that I take the time to design something for myself; I think I should do more of this! If I’m working on something for publication, I usually don’t have the luxury of time or the ability to choose the color or the yarn. I’m going to be talking at greater length about the new sweater, Tarpon, in a later post.
Octavia
I think I’ve mentioned a word or two about a new shawl, Octavia. Earlier in the year, I partnered with Harrisville Designs to use their gorgeous woolen spun Shetland in a cold-weather shawl design. Together with Tipsy Knitter Natasha, we’ve managed to complete our samples! I am so thrilled with how it turned out and it’s so wonderful to see it in two color ways. I’m also very excited about the way Shetland performed and I’m looking forward to a late fall release.
Bandol
Dreamy soft and cottony, Bandol is just about through its test/sample knit. I’m hoping to release this summer shawl just about mid-June. It’s an easy knit with an intuitive stitch pattern that will be perfect for summer travel knitting and just right for wearing at the beach or the cottage. I can’t wait to share more about Bandol as we get closer to launch.
I could probably rattle on for several more paragraphs but who has time with all this knitting to be done? I’ll try to stay a little more up to date! Cheers!
