Even though I feel lucky to have had warm weather all winter this year, a good Canadian girl is always longing for spring. I’m ready to bust out things that are pink and pale green, to leave the windows open and to wear white jeans. I’m happy to report lots of precious new growth on the patio this week. Things are blooming! The lemon tree has produced the most fragrant blossoms ever and is just about done now. The pansies are at their last gasp, too, but new things are showing themselves every day.
This weeks discount pattern is my favorite kind of stashbuster – pretty socks – in one of my favorite spring colors, pink. The Clementine Socks are mid-calf with all-over patterning. Of course, you can make them in any color and in any single skein of fingering weight yarn in your stash. Try making them short! I think they’d be stunning in a shorter length with Birkenstocks or clogs . The easy-to-memorize stitch pattern is rhythmic and fun to knit and produces a lovely open fabric.
