Welcome to the new and improved Free Pattern Friday! If you’re part of our FPF Ravelry group, you already know that Free Pattern Friday is changing a little, now that we’ve made it to the end of the first year. Hard to believe, isn’t it? (You can read all about that HERE). As a fresh new start, I’ll be taking a trip down memory lane over the next few weeks offering some of the more successful patterns as free-for-a-limited-time Ravelry downloads. I’ll also be offering my traditional weekly “treat” which is a little discount valid in my Ravelry store. You’ll just pick up your coupon codes here at the blog and enter the code at checkout.
One little note: You’re welcome to share this promotion with friends, but please share the WEBSITE ADDRESS (www.littlechurchknits.com) rather than the coupon code itself. That way, I get a little bit of extra blog traffic and that helps me a lot!
The New & Improved Free Pattern Friday will begin Friday, February 3 when I’ll be launching a 6 month shawl series! Read all about it HERE.
Today’s free pattern is the pretty Little Birches Wrap, a narrow rectangular shawl with lacy edges worked in two colors. This soft yet crisp wrap is easy to wear across your shoulders to keep out the winter chill. It looks equally pretty looped loosely around the neck with its lacy ends in two different colors draping softly toward the front. At 10″ wide, Little Birches is wide enough to be a wrap, and airy enough to be a scarf. The leafy lace edges make for some knitting fun while the stockinette portion is perfect for car or commute knitting. Little Birches in worked from the lacy ends inward, then joined at the center using the Kitchener Stitch. The lace pattern is presented in charted form. You’ll find the code at the bottom of the page, free until January 26 😉
Here’s a little extra treat for you! Since everyone is mad for shawls lately, this week’s special tidbit is a BOGO on the paid-for shawl patterns. Pop in to my Ravelry shop and purchase either the Annapolis Wrap, The Big Skinny or the Yew Tree Cowl and get another of that group free! Just put the patterns in your cart and enter RETRO2 in the coupon box. And don’t forget the forever free shawl patterns like Diamonds for Lisa, Big Island Wrapper and the Wilson Wrap!
Without further ado, today’s magical coupon code is….FPF2! Happy knitting, everyone!
PS: I’ve added a second code for the Little Birches Wrap since some folks have experienced difficulties with the first one. The new code is FREE2.
